Description of Canon SI-XL1 System Isolator
The SI-XL1 System Isolator fits between the viewfinder and the camera body. The viewfinder assembly is moved 60mm forward i.e. the camera moves back 60mm, providing a balanced and relaxed shoulder support.The Canon SI-XL1 System Isolator is a multi-purpose isolator coupler for the Canon XL1 camcorder. The SI-XL1 is designed to provide shock and vibration isolation to the XL1 viewfinder and microphone mount assembly system of the camera. The SI-XL1 can be attached or removed instantly, as the unit utilizes and conforms to the Canon method of slide assembly, positioning and locking. It can remain on either the camcorder or viewfinder when the camera is disassembled for compact travel packing.
With the Canon SI-XL1 System Isolator, you will experience a distinct reduction of mechanically transmitted motor noise, operator handling noise, and shock to your microphone. Even the finest mechanisms generate a certain amount of bearing rumble and whine, producing a variety of high and low frequencies that combine into unwanted noises. The SI-XL1 can fully isolate the microphone and significantly reduce any unwanted harmonics.
The Canon SI-XL1 System Isolator isolates both the camcorder body and viewfinder from physical damage that can occur from an unintended bump or jolt. The SI-XL1 enables angular displacement in all directions, including rotational twist.
