The Canon MP610 is a solidly built machine. It performs all its functions very well and is easy to setup and install its software. I especially like the dual paper feeds. Great printer! This is the best printer I have owned. It's fast and the picture quality is wonderful. The size of the printer is bigger then I thought it would be, but I don't mind. I use it mainly for printing photos and I haven't been disappointed yet. I have notoiced that the quality of the photos turn out better if you use the Easy Print EX software that comes with the Canon printer. I have both Kodax Easy Share and Olympus photo software on my computer. You can print from these programs, but I have found that the picture quality isn't near as good if you do. I also like the individual ink cartridges. When one color runs out you only have to replace the color you need instead of buying a new tri color cartridge. Customer Review: Works when it wants to

Okay, it's great on a certain level... It prints, it scans, looks great. But it rejects the printer cartridges and won't do anything... These are the cartridges that came with it and all of a sudden it "doesn't recognize" them anymore and ceases to do anything. I contacted the Canon support team and all they do is say they'll send me a new cartridge. This means that they don't really care about this problem. And what's really bad is that there's 5 cartridges for it to reject! I don't know if the other canon printers are like this, but I think this feature completely ruins the printer/scanner.Customer Review: Love it!

I've had my printer for a little over a month now and am extremely pleased with it. I bought it to take to work since we have too many people trying to use one little printer & the bottleneck is ridiculous. I do very little photo printing with it; my main usage is printing out text & text with graphics. It's smooth, quiet & solid. The colors, even in draft mode are better than I've seen in quality mode on my old HP printers. The copy function is very nice; it's quick & the quality is very good.
The footprint on this model is bigger than I would expect to be normal & a it is a tad heavy but neither is an issue for me. This is the second Canon I've purchased & have not been unhappy with either.

Based on research and review this seemed to be the best of the pixma series from Canon. It's a pretty big unit, so measure your space before you get this sucker at home.
It's solid, with easy functionality in Windows XP. The on-unit screen functions well for copies and scans. Paper tray is decent sized, and perpendicular so gravity helps pull paper in (instead of horizontal trays).
Scanner is quick and good quality - the software included is decent and it's just as easy to use the Print/Scan wizard in XP.
I'm not impressed with the print/copy quality. I was expecting better color quality from Canon - my old i960 printed more vibrant on canon glossy paper, so I'm disappointed by this purchase. If you're printing more 4x6 or photos at home go with a photo printer - but if you want a "decent" printer with other features this unit can do it all.
