Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon Pixma MP470 Photo All-In-One Inkjet Printer (2177B002)Customer Review: First new printer in a few years and Wow! Summary: 5 StarsI recently bought the Canon MP470 printer to replace my old work horse Epson Stylus COLOR 880, and my old Canon Scanner. I was actually reluctant to buy a new printer since the Epson did an OK job printing most materials, and if I wanted a photo printed I would just hand it over to my wife so she could print the image on her two year old HP photo printer.
The scanner is really important to me, because I'm a Ham Radio operator and I scan all of the contact confirmation cards or QSL cards for my web site. Honestly after a few seconds of set up it was doing a professional looking job, and is a whole lot faster than my previous scanner.
Overall I've been blown away with the new printer and have been very very happy with the text printing as well as the photo printing (which really does look like it came from a lab) and the scanner beats my old scanner easily.
Mine also came with two packages of photo paper, and a 6 foot USB cable. Maybe I bought mine during a Canon promotion, but the paper is the Canon Photo Color Print Paper Pro 4X6 20 pack, and a 10 pack of Photo Plus Matte 8X0, which I haven't messed with yet. But I have to say the text looks better than either of the other two printers in the house, and the scanner works great, plus it prints photos they'll last a life time.
I have to say I've only had the printer for about a week, so we'll see if it holds up as long as my old Epson, but so far I really am a happy camper. The only thing is I wonder if I should have bought the next one up in the Canon food chain.
Customer Review: Good Printer Summary: 5 StarsI have been using the printer for about a month now, and no complaints. The print quality is solid, but it doesn't blow you away. But for the price, I am satisfied. A few improvements could be made, for instance the print tray in the back could have been a little higher to hold the paper up more. The one bid downside I had is that the cable I needed to hook it up to the computer did not come with the printer, so make sure you have what you need when you order.
Customer Review: cannon printer Summary: 4 StarsI think the printer is a good printer. I don't like how the paper feeds into the machine. I feel like it is a little slow.
If you are not in a rush, or impatient for the printed paper, you will love it.
Customer Review: Good Price Summary: 5 StarsBought it as a birthday present for my sister-in-law. She is very satisfied with it.
Customer Review: Impressive Summary: 4 StarsWe replaced our Dell All-in-One printer with this Canon and boy, are we happy with it. The Dell always had feeder issues - this one does not. I have noticed that it takes a bit longer for it to get going, but once it does the print-outs are speedy and look very good. We've also been using this to create CD labels and it looks excellent and never has trouble aligning like the other one did. The copy feature works great, too. I don't use the scanner as much, but its very easy to use. The colors on the photo prints were not as vivid as they were on the Dell, but all in all this is a terrific, quality product for the money and very easy to set up out of the box.
