I bought this case to use with my G7. This is a nicely made case that can be used with all the above listed cameras. There are no fitment issues with the G7, G9, or G10. As others have stated, there are slight problems fitting a G11 due to the return of the pivoting screen. The case can be trimmed slightly to clear this area. If you are handy, particularly in working with leather, this is easy. If not, or you really don't want a case that you have to modify, don't buy it for use with a G11.
Actually it really isn't quite fair to give it one star because it doesn't fit a G11. Canon didn't make it for the G11. However, it is good to point out the issue.
As to the functional use of the case, this is a typical ever-ready, really "never-ready" case, as we used to call all this type of case for 35 mm SLR's and rangefinder cameras. It is not real quick to use. You can operate the camera with the top part of the case still hanging by the bottom snap. I just turn the top case section around to the back on its snap so it doesn't get in the way. It is more convenient to remove it, though, if you do, you might lay it down somewhere and forget it, if you are in a hurry.
This case is very protective and well made. It looks nice. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because it is still the typical "never-ready" case that I've seen for 40 years. It has the same protective inconvenience of all the other "never-ready cases, with one notable exception. At least on the 35 mm cases, you just had to unsnap one snap to open the case. In this design, you have two snaps, one on either side of the camera, to unsnap. Even as a "never-ready" case, it could have been designed with one snap wrapping the top around to the bottom. Sounds minor, but it is slightly slower than even the more common versions of this type of case.
Since I use this camera as a pocket camera, this case is nice and protective. I don't like tiny cameras. I used to carry 35 mm rangefinder cameras in a pocket. Both the camera, and the case are well suited for this, at least in a large pocket. Overall, it is still a bit smaller than a Leica CL or Voigtlander with a collapsible lens.
