Customer Review: Required for many Powershot A series to use accessory lenses.

I use it on my A720is to attach the telephoto and closeup auxiliary lenses. It works as advertized, but as others have said, it blocks most of the flash and most of the optical viewfinder. So, I just don't use the flash and viewfinder when it is attached! This does cause some inconvenience if I want to use the viewfinder in bright sun when the viewing screen is washed out. As far as the flash goes, I don't really see any need for flash when the auxiliary lenses are being used. When I do need the flash, my subject can be within the effective flash distance and be well framed in the normal camera zoom lens, without this adaptor attached. I do wish the plastic tabs on the back of this adaptor that mount it to the camera were a little better designed, they don't snug down tightly so the adaptor has just a bit of play or looseness which can be felt as wobble when it has the weight of an auxiliary lens attached. Since it is not a tight fit, any lens attached to the front of it will pull it downward just a bit so the lens will be very slightly out of alignment with the axis of the main lens of the camera. I can't see any misalignment effect in my photos unless it is at night and there is a bright light in the photo, then the "halo" that is sometimes visible around the light is slightly off-center. If it was a tight fit to the camera, I would give this 4 stars.
