Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon?CanoScan?8800F?Color?Film/Negative/Photo?Scanner?(2168B002)

Customer Review: Exceeded Expectations
Summary: 5 Stars

A quality product. Far exceeded expectations. Have already scanned over 3,000 slides. If you're looking to convert slides or negatives, this is a great scanner to choose.

Customer Review: Great Scanner
Summary: 5 Stars

I wasn't sure if Canon made a quality scanner. I read the reviews and took a chance. Boy! am I happy with this product. It's better than I expected. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Customer Review: Works with MAC
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased my unit directly from Amazon for $179.99 with free shipping. It does a great job of scanning photos into the MAC, and it also scans four slides at a time and puts them into separate files. I let it use the suggested dpi settings, did no dusting of the 30-year old slides, and they look great. It seems to be sturdy, the software "just works" (just like a MAC), the unit matches my MAC desk top. It takes about three minutes to scan four slides at 1200 dpi. I was using a hp for photos and documents, but it crashed when I tried slides, even with the latest drivers. This software, operation, and final output are all much better than the hp 4570, plus it will scan slides which the hp crashed on. I didn't rate customer support because I didn't need any help setting up and using the unit.

Customer Review: great, but few slide slot
Summary: 4 Stars

The scanner is great, excellent output and image quality, also if, in the "super recovery mode" is quite slow. I would prefer a scanner with more than 4 slide slot, as i am a big slide scanner!!

Customer Review: Works well with Mac
Summary: 5 Stars

This works great with Mac including most recent snow leopard. Advice to all users - before starting for first time, download new and most recent driver from Canon web site to be sure above and other systems up to date.
As far as I can tell, to put photos in to iphoto, create file and then transfer all to iphoto and then you can use just like any other photo in this application.
