Ink works fine, cartridges install easily into my Canon Pixma 4600. (Not too sure about Canon's method of indicating that a cartridge is running low - - how much ink is actually left before one replaces the cartridge?) It is the classic razor and razor blade paradigm. Sell a reasonably priced printer and then soak the customer with tiny, overpriced ink cartridges that can only come from the printer manufacturer.
Unfortunately, I have the printer and otherwise like it, so what is the choice.
